Erg to Curb COVID

A Proud History

The Western Cape is the source of rowing in South Africa, its origins being coastal in the famous Table Bay. Currently, only one club remains from Table Bay - Alfred's Rowing Club, which complied an engrossing club history.

Western Cape Rowing is based in three locations:

  • The majority of Clubs, Schools, and a University utilize Zeekoevlei - Grassy park.

  • Align Dam, in Grabouw, is set behind the Hottentots Holland Mountain range, an exquisite location.

  • Cape Coastal rowing, have set about reviving coastal rowing, with much assistance from Derek Reid, and are based in Simon's Town.
